Job description: Work with local sales and marketing teams, land cooperators, retail sellers and Client leadership to organize and plan the following: lease research sites; plan location layouts; develop entry lists; organize labor; produce annual fertility, herbicide, and insecticide plans; trial planning, support training objectives.
Job Description
- Plant research plots, in-season maintenance through harvest, data transfer, data analysis and the communication of activities and operations to the sales staff involved at each site.
- Ensure that operational protocols are being completed in a timely manner; Provide a impactful experience with site demonstrations for sales objectives; Data quality assurance.
- Manage and develop staff (2 direct reports and up to 2 seasonal temporary employees); Build and maintain workflow for direct reports, ensuring that operations are conducted in an efficient and effective manner.
- Work with other Answer Plot Research Managers to develop strategies to achieve data objectives. This may include trial design, data quality protocols, data flow processes and turnaround times, or formation of insights from data.
- Communicate strategies, decisions, data or activity plans to sales teams.
Experience/Education
- Bachelors degree in Ag or related field; Masters degree in Ag related field a plus; candidates without a bachelors degree who possess proven and related experience may be considered.
- 6 years of Ag retail and/or small plot experience; experience with crops related to this region (i.e. sunflower, canola, soybeans, peas, corn, wheat).
- Experience managing a team.
- Knowledge of digital imaging, georeferencing software, data collection systems and ability to learn other proprietary systems.
- Must have CDL license or willing to obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
- Frequent overnight travel during peak season (up to approximately 50%).
