Stock Handler

This position is a second shift position that is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of *** South Carolina Fleet by researching, ordering, receiving, storing, posting of transactions, delivering, and maintaining inventory of automotive parts and related supplies.

Summary of Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the general maintenance of the main fleet warehouse at the central garage and all satellite garage locations
  • Assist with organizing and monitoring of inventory
  • Receiving and issuing materials to include inspect materials received for accuracy and quality and coordinate with vendor to rectify problems
  • Purchase automotive parts and supplies within prescribed limits for garages throughout the company
  • Perform data entry functions to document purchases, accurate and timely completion of paperwork
  • Prepare material request for overnight deliveries
  • What are the top (at least 3 if possible) “must have” skill sets (technical/functional) which are required?
  • Must possess strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees, and vendors
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the Fleet organization and support organizations
  • Attention to detail to maintain accurate records is critical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and materials management programs such as SAP

  • Demonstrate skills necessary to manage multiple assignments, take decisive action to facilitate completion of assignments and work independently or as part of a team
  • The physical requirements of this job are strenuous and include heavy lifting and the operation of material handling equipment (i.e. fork lift, hand truck, pallet jacks, etc).
  • What education and certifications/licensures are required? High School diploma or GED; experience in material management is preferred and knowledge of automotive background is required.
