Job Description

General Summary:

In support of our One FedEx corporate strategy, this position will have globally aligned functions that focus on infrastructure platforms & engineering for datacenters and edge locations, cloud onboarding and enablement, software development lifecycle and developer enablement, enterprise architecture, and cloud governance to deliver shared services for the global IT organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent.
• Significant related IT or infrastructure standards and architecture experience, including demonstrated management or leadership track record.
• Must possess sound business judgment and the ability to develop and execute against IT strategies.
• Strong business partner interface skills, proven leadership and results, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential for this position.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
• Design operational efficiency metrics to measure and report on multi and hybrid cloud providers.
• Lead a large, diverse technology center that supports operational needs and fulfill internal and external customer requirements working with cloud architecture and cloud engineering to ensure network security measures are in place and operating efficiently.
• Oversee implementation of new or improved operational processes and procedures to instill consistent practices globally across regional teams while driving service enhancement efforts.
• Accountable for providing day-to-day leadership and management of the infrastructure organization and managing the effective delivery of those services to the company.
• Establish executive level relationships and partners with these business partners to understand their needs as it relates to infrastructure services and advanced architectures.
• Maintains a spirit and focus of execution and value creation – drives continuous improvement into process, behaviors, technology refresh/implementation and delivery mechanisms into all aspects of the infrastructure technology lifecycle.
• Thought leader, evangelist and change agent for all tools and platforms that support and influence the infrastructure supplier services delivery function. Responsible for identifying opportunities within the department to create efficiencies through the smart introduction of tool sets and technology services.
• Identify gaps and remediation opportunities within business processes and run books. Ensure continuous alignment between the two teams and that all relevant knowledge artifacts stay current.
• Ensure key providers/partners have top personnel immediately accessible to FedEx, especially during an outage.
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure capabilities are in place and are utilized to proactively conduct enterprise infrastructure monitoring, change management, and capacity planning and forecasting.
• Responsible for setting infrastructure technology standards in the area of server, storage, automation, virtualization, and cloud hosting services.
• Drives the evolution of partner relationships with all cloud services providers – ensures that cloud technology roadmaps align with the market.
• Create a compelling vision, clear direction, and strategy for the team.
• Ensure capabilities are developed and resources are aligned to support the strategy and readiness for peak demand.
• Certify skillset for current estate with line of sight for skills/certifications needed in advance of future estate.
• Responsible for managing cost effective combination of employee and contract workforce.
• Attract, motivate, develop, and retain highly skilled leaders; champion and model leadership development.

• This position is domiciled in Collierville, TN.
• The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
