Accounting Manager CPA/EA (Start Date: On/around February 1, 2024)

As an Accounting Manager, you will lead a team of 3-4 Bookkeepers, guiding them through training, development, and… fostering a continuous feedback loop. This role offers a unique opportunity for managers and their teams to present financial data directly to clients, directly influencing client success.
To excel in the Accounting Manager role, you will begin as an individual contributor for 6-12 months, gaining a deep understanding of the day-to-day operations to better support your team.
Candidates who have been successful in this role include but limited to: tax managers seeking a stable, client-facing role, self-employed accountants looking for collaborative teamwork, and accountants managing teams who seek upward mobility.
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable in client-facing roles
Excited about mentoring and supporting team growth
Ability to provide guidance without micromanaging
Strong technical accounting and critical thinking skills
Comfortable advising clients on basic tax implications
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Tech-savvy and adept at utilizing available tools
Genuine interest in helping others and going the extra mile
Confidence in accounting skills with a willingness to seek answers when needed
Capacity to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing tasks
Day in the Life of an Accounting Manager:
8 am: Plan the day and check emails
9 am: Team meeting to align on priorities, troubleshoot, and coach
10 am: Review reports, analyze data, assist with client tax questions
1 pm: Client meeting
2 pm: Internal meeting with the leadership team
3:30 pm: Another client meeting
4:30 pm: Check emails, review reports, troubleshoot with team
5:45 pm: Sign off for the day

Application Requirements:
Experience: Public Accounting Firm (2 years required)
License/Certification: CPA or EA (Required)
Proficiency Quickbooks Online (not just desktop) (3 years required)
