Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Site Survey Technician to work as part of a two- or three-person land/site survey field crew on our Columbia, SC Survey team.
As part of the Survey Technician responsibilities, you will:
- Work under the supervision of a Crew Chief / Party Chief
- Work with robotic total stations, GNSS equipment and terrestrial scanners
- Work on boundary, topographic, as-built, construction, route and control network surveys
- Uses a variety of surveying instruments to support a survey crew in their daily operations
- Read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts and construction plans
- Assist crew chief in taking survey field notes, sketches, and other written records daily
- Assist crew chief in performing QA/QC to verify that the data complies with the project requirements
- Perform basic maintenance of the survey field equipment
- Keep survey field vehicle in clean and orderly condition
- Load and unload trucks with survey equipment and supplies
- Prepare timesheet
- Have “team” attitude and communicate effectively
- Understand and follow all applicable safety procedures
- Rely on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals
- Occasional overnight travel is required to get to the work sites
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Highschool Diploma (or GED) or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.

Offered rate of compensation (South Carolina) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $14.00 – $19.00/hour.
