Job Description

REAP food group is hiring for a Local Foods Coordinator position to be stationed in the western, central, or northern WI. The Local Foods Coordinators will play a critical role in the Farm Fresh Atlas expansion project, a program funded by a USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) grant. For over 20 years, the Farm Fresh Atlas has served as a local food guideThe local Foods Coordinator is… responsible for managing existing, and developing new, local food business relationships including local farmers, farmers markets, restaurants, and other food related businesses and organizations for The Farm Fresh Atlas. The coordinator will work in their designated part of the state to collect feedback from Atlas listees and support the project’s mission to connect local food producers with consumers.

You are highly organized and have strong communication skills.

What You’ll Do
• Develop authentic relationships with local food businesses in your geographic region
• Connect underserved farmers with resources, capacity building technical assistance and new sales opportunities
• Increase the demand for locally grown and produced food through outreach and communications
• Make business connections along the local food system value chain
• Collect feedback and insights from Atlas members to improve the program’s offerings
• Act as a liaison between producers and the program, addressing their needs and concerns
• Provide timely and effective support to members

What Else You Should Know

REAP Food Group has our physical office location at Garver Feed Mill in Madison, WI. Staff have a hybrid work environment. The Local Food Coordinator positions can be fully remote depending on the location of the person. These are permanent positions with REAP. However, the positions are funded for the first 2 years through two grants: a USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program grant and Specialty Crop Block grant through the WI Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.

Compensation

The Local Foods Coordinator positions are 0.5 FTE working up to 20 hours a week with flexibility on hours and compensation of $24,750 ($49,500 FTE). Part-time REAP employees are eligible for paid holidays and retirement plan participation upon hire with an employer match eligibility after 1 year of work.
